L.A. Times Executive to Direct DNA’s Interactive Division
DENVER (March 1, 2007) – A suburban Los Angeles community newspaper publisher has been named senior vice president/interactive for the Denver Newspaper Agency.
Elaine Y. Zinngrabe, publisher of Times Community News, a division of the Los Angeles Times, replaces Fran Wills, who left the Agency last summer.
In her current role, Zinngrabe oversees suburban newspapers in Glendale and Burbank. She previously was general manager of Times properties in suburban Orange County.
“I’m very excited about joining an organization of the quality of the Denver Newspaper Agency and a market with such tremendous opportunity for interactive growth,” said Zinngrabe.
She begins her new duties March 26.
Harry Whipple, president and CEO of the Agency, called Zinngrabe “a nationally recognized leader and innovator in both print and online circles. She is a bright, creative and aggressive entrepreneur with a strong track record of success who will bring added strength to the DNA’s internet offerings.”
As publisher of The Denver Post and Rocky Mountain News, the Denver Newspaper Agency augments its audience with a family of web sites that average 4.3 million audited unique visitors a month, accessing more than 31 million page views.
Zinngrabe was general manager and director of the Times’ interactive division before moving into suburban publishing.
She was new media manager for the University of Southern California News Service before joining the Times company in 1998.
Zinngrabe, who began her career as a copy editor and reporter for the Seattle Times, has two degrees from the University of Southern California.
